Nettle Tincture
Nettles & nettle tinctures have been used for centuries by herbalists to support the body’s natural response to seasonal allergies. It acts as a gentle antihistamine, helping to reduce inflammation, ease congestion, and calm itchy eyes and sneezing. Rich in nutrients and antioxidants, nettle also strengthens the immune system and supports respiratory health, making it a trusted herbal ally for those sensitive to pollen and environmental allergens.
This tincture is a natural remedy for wellness, but always listen to your body and consult a trusted herbalist or healthcare provider as needed.
Ingredients
1 cup dried organic nettle leaves (or 2 cups fresh)
2 cups organic vodka (or brandy, at least 40% alcohol)
Method
Place the nettle leaves them in a clean glass jar. Pour in the alcohol to cover the herbs, making sure they are fully submerged. Seal the jar and store it in a cool, dark place for four to six weeks, shaking occasionally. After the steeping time, strain the liquid through a fine mesh or cheesecloth into a dropper bottle.
I take one to two dropperfuls, about 30 to 60 drops, daily as needed during hay fever season.
