Natural Laundry Detergent
Keeps your clothes clean & fresh with out any of the harsh chemicals or plastic packaging!
Ingredients
15 whole soap nuts
6 cups of water
15-20 drops essential oil (fragrance of your choice)
Method
Place the soap nuts in a pot with the water and bring it to a boil. Once it’s boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 30 minutes. You can gently mash the soap nuts with a spoon or potato masher to help release their natural saponins. After simmering, allow the mixture to cool down completely. Then, strain the liquid through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl. Once cool mix in the essential oil.
Store the detergent in a bottle or jar, and keep it in the refrigerator if you don’t plan to use it within a week. Use about 1/2 cup of the detergent per load of laundry.
